Sabiyha Prince

Sabiyha Prince is an anthropologist/activist, and visual artist whose pushback against inequality is reflected in her writings and artistic practice.  Author of the ethnographies Constructing Belonging and African Americans and Gentrification in Washington, DCSabiyha also edited Capital Dilemma with Derek Hyra.  As an organizer she coordinated Congressional hearings on Namibian independence, the celebrity tour to 'cancer alley' and anti war actions with Black Voices for Peace  Sabiyha's paintings and digital collages have been exhibited at The Anacostia Arts Center, The Art League, The Hill Center, Zenith Gallery, 11Eleven Gallery and through Black Girls Who Paint and The Petworth Artist’s Collaborative. Media appearances include MSNBC, NPR, Al Jazeera English, Sirius XM, WHUR, WOL, WPFW, and WYPR.
