Samer El-Amine is a first-generation Lebanese America, he was born and raised in DC, Ward 1. Samer grew up around activists in the Ella Jo Baker Cooperative that was founded by Empower DC's Co-Founder Linda Leeks. Following the footsteps of his father, Samer started organizing in North Philadelphia during his time at Temple University. At Temple he co-founded the Black & Brown Coalition which worked closely with the community in North Philadelphia to oppose university led gentrification.  

In his role as community organizer Samer hopes to develop relationships within the DC community and fight for the rights of DC residents to achieve adequate housing and education for this generation and those to come. In his free time, Samer is a dog dad and enjoys taking long walks with his Pitbull Mila!
